Former Speaker of the US House of Representatives (lower house of US parliament) Newt Gingrich has called US Vice President Kamala Harris as possibly the “dumbest person ever elected Vice President in American history,” in a TV talk show.

While discussing the latest resignation by a VP staffer with Fox News’ host Sean Hannity, Gingrich said, “Well, first of all if you want a strong reason to pray for the health of the present United States, you are reminded again that the reason is the Vice President,” Gingrich says. “She’s not only totally incoherent —you know, [Biden] may or may not have cognitive decline problems at his age, but at her age she’s just dumb. Let’s be clear: Kamala Harris may be the dumbest person ever elected Vice President in American history and that’s why people keep resigning.”

Gingrich, a bellicose neoconservative, went on to provide his recommendation on how US should act in the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict: provide advanced missiles to Ukraine, threaten Russia with ‘overwhelming and decisive response within 48 hours’ if it were to use chemical weapons. Such rhetoric from pro-war American hawks reminds one of the fake propaganda over Saddam Hussein’s WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) stockpiles that was used to justify the 2003 Iraq invasion. Gingrich also called Putin a ‘war criminal’ and berated Biden for being ‘timid and too cautious’ – he also demanded NSA Jake Sullivan be fired for ‘slowing down’ assistance to Ukraine.

There has been much speculation in Washington circles about President Biden’s cognitive decline, with multiple videos showing him forgetting or misnaming things, stuttering or mumbling his way through addresses. At 79, Biden is the oldest ever President in American history.

A recent poll found that 50 percent of registered American voters disagreed with the statement: ‘Joe Biden is in good health.’ That same poll revealed that 49 percent disagree that ‘Joe Biden is mentally fit’. 

Joe Biden has also been accused of inappropriate behavior towards women, including minor girls. Footage of Biden sniffing girls’ hair and touching them inappropriately at a 2015 US Senate hearing when he was Vice President in the Obama administration, had gone viral.
