Chaduni issues open threat, Rakesh Tikait justifies lynching in Lakhimpur Kheri

Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) Haryana Chief Gurnam Chaduni has openly threatened the government from the ‘farmer protest’ platform. Chaduni had earlier called for violence in Haryana and had asked so-called farmers to gherao Haryana MLAs.

Chaduni threatens government

Speaking at the Kisan Mahapanchayat in Rohtak, Chaduni threatened the BJP government at the centre asking them to withdraw the farm laws. As per reports, he is alleged to have stated that the government shouldn’t test the patience of the ‘farmers’. “Tolerance has a limit. Don’t test our patience”, he said. He is also said to have asked ‘farmers’ not to resort to violence.

Chaduni apparently had joined hands with Congress to topple the Khattar government and is believed to be having close links with Kejriwal. It is pertinent to mention that a raid was also conducted by Jalandhar Police at his house in Jan 2009 to pick him to ascertain his association with arrested CPI-Maoist Cadre Jai Prakash Dubey @ Anupam of Hazaribagh. However, the subject could not be picked up by the Police as managed to escape from the house well before the police raid, as per intel inputs.

Mob lynching justified by ‘leaders’

So-called leaders have been time and again justifying the brutal mob lynching of Hindus in Lakhimpur Kheri only because they were BJP workers.

Congress leader Kamru Choudhary, who was among those who justified the heinous act, in a debate on Times Now justified the brutal mob lynching of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) workers, branding them as ‘murderers’ who deserved it. Choudhary in a rather appalling statement declared the BJP workers as criminals and said, “They do not deserve any sympathy or compensation”.

Congress leader from Karnataka, Amaregouda Patil Bayyapur said, ‘let BJP workers die and the Congress party will give them a compensation of Rs 1 crore’, OpIndia had reported. Rakesh Tikait who termed Bhindranwale as a ‘saint’ has also often displayed his Hindu hatred which he took a notch ahead by calling the lynched BJP workers ‘maneaters’.

According to a report by OpIndia, “Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait has justified the mob lynching of BJP workers and a driver in the Lakhimpur Kheri case citing it was a reaction to an action. While addressing a press conference, Tikait said that they were killed by the farmer protestors as a reaction to the death of farmers by a vehicle carrying the BJP workers, and therefore it was a justified act”.

That murders are being justified and dehumanized only because they happen to be BJP workers is both appalling and condemnable. Furthermore, threats being issued from ‘farmer’ protest platforms need to be taken seriously by the Central government which needs to step in and take strict action against those threatening the peace of the country.
