“1.25 crore Bangladeshis entered Assam in last 40 years: Jharkhand must stop it before its too late: Himanta Biswa Sarma”, Organiser, May 17, 2024:

“Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that over 1.25 crore Bangladeshis intruders entered Assam in the last 40 years. CM Sarma, while interacting with the media in Jharkhand, said that in the last 40 years, about 1 crore 25 lakh Bangladeshis have infiltrated into Assam and the indigenous people of Assam have almost lost their identity.

Replying to a question in the press meeting in Ranchi, CM Sarma said that the infiltration started 40 years ago during the congress regime. But the Congress government then couldn’t stop it due to various political reasons or they couldn’t imagine the danger of it.

Now for the BJP led government, it is almost impossible to alter the situation, the CM admitted. He further said that there were 40 MLAs of migrant Muslims in Assam assembly. Not only that they became ministers, assembly speakers, magistrates, deputy commissioners, and what not. Now it can’t be stopped, now we can only fight back……”
