Villagers in UP’s Mainpuri relieved after buffalo thief arrested; 4 stolen buffaloes, pick-up truck, pistol recovered

Villagers reeling under the terror of buffalo thieves got some relief last month when police arrested a notorious buffalo thief from Aunchha area of UP’s Mainpuri district, reports LiveHindustan.com

Elahi Baksh (s/o Fakirelal) was arrested during police checking – 4 stolen buffaloes, a pick-up truck, and a country revolver were recovered from him. His accomplices however managed to escape.

Dozens of villages in the Aunchha police station area were so terrorized by the thieves, that they had to stay awake at night to guard their cattle. A few days prior, the buffalo thieves had even fired at the villagers.
