A man who filmed bathing women to take revenge on his Hindu neighbour has been arrested in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. Nasir Ahmed, a 35-year-old man placed his mobile phone with a power bank to film his Hindu neighbour’s wife and daughter in their bathroom.
Venkatesh, a peon in government school, lives in South Street, Thanjavur. Earlier he spotted Nasir Ahmed spying on his wife and daughter from his terrace when they were bathing. He complained about this to Nasir’s dad Muhammed Iqbal, a retired Sub Inspector of police. Iqbal allegedly said “of course, he will see if the bathroom is kept open”. The bathroom appears to have an asbestos roof. Nasir took offence to Venkatesh telling on him.
Last Friday when Venkatesh’s wife went to take a bath in the evening, she spotted red and green lights twinkling near the bathroom window. She told about it to her husband and when Venkatesh searched the window he found a web camera along with a power bank. Following this he filed a complaint with the local police.
Venkatesh has accused Nasir of filming his wife and daughter when they were bathing. Nasir is said to have placed the camera by accessing the bathroom window from a house adjacent to it. He removed the glass window of the other house and fixed the camera in Venkatesh’s bathroom using a stick easily as there is only one feet distance between the walls. Owner of the other house had given the keys to Nasir so that he could show it to people who wanted to rent the house. Police have seized the camera, memory card and power bank and are examining the contents.
