TMC deprives BJP supporters of vaccine, similar discrimination reported in TN

After a state-sponsored pogrom was unleashed against them, those who voted for BJP are also being deprived of Covid-19 vaccines in West Bengal by the ruling TMC. Times Now reported an incident in Howrah where BJP workers alleged that TMC members were given preference in vaccination. The video circulating in social media shows people brandishing firearms which appear country made.

As per reports, an altercation ensued between BJP workers and TMC workers as the latter is said to have skipped the queue and gotten the jab. TMC supporters were given preference and there was nepotism in administering vaccines as per the allegations of BJP workers. WB state BJP unit has also accused the Mamta government of malpractices in distributing the vaccines.

In other news, cars parked inside a housing complex in Phulbagan locality in Kolkata were vandalised allegedly by TMC goons. The residents of the complex have alleged that they were singled out because 500 out of the 524 votes went to BJP while TMC only got 24 votes. Similar incidents of singling out BJP voters have happened in other states as well.

A few days ago the HRCE minister of Tamil Nadu, where DMK came to power recently, issued veiled threats to North Indians settled in Chennai. “Despite the fact that we repeatedly requested you to vote for us, you continue to vote for BJP. While BJP polled 300-350 votes we(DMK) only polled 50 votes in the area you live”, he said in an event organised by the Jain community.

Similarly Kongu region, the North Western part of TN, complained of being deprived of vaccines as most of the constituencies in the region voted for the AIADMK-BJP alliance.

Coimbatore, which elected one of the four BJP MLAs, Vanathi Srinivasan, faced vaccine shortage for many days. In a live TV debate about the issue, the DMK spokesperson arrogantly said that those who ask for vaccines should go ask Modi as they have other jobs to do. Only after the BJP leaders protested against the negligence, vaccines were allocated to the region. While political violence was the only resort to threaten voters in the past, parties like DMK and TMC have found new ways to make the voters submissive by depriving them of their rights.
