Students made deadly weapons inside the Neyyatinkara Dhanuvachhapuram ITI Campus in the Thiruvananthapuram district. Students Federation of India (SFI), CPM’s student wing, students allegedly turned the study room into a weapon shop. A local TV channel released related footage.
Students wearing fitter trade uniforms were seen forging two feet long double-edged swords in the practical lab inside the college. Teachers who discovered that the lab was being turned into a weapons factory hid the information. They remained silent without taking any action against the accused SFI members.
Many swords were seized from the campus by a leftist teacher named Paul Raj. But he hid this from the principal. Weapons manufactured inside the campus are becoming weapons of murderous politics both inside and outside the campus.
Though Raj was seen inspecting the swords, he later denied even seeing the deadly weapons. Students are allowed to forge only the items mentioned in the syllabus, and such swords are not part of the curriculum. The education minister of Kerala, V Sivankutty, denied receiving any complaints in this regard.
The ITI (like most colleges) is a red (communist) fort that does not even allow other political parties like the KSU or the ABVP to enter the campus. Local media did a sting operation after they received information that colleges are turning into weapons depots. Weapons made here are allegedly used for political murders all over the state.
The media reported many drug-related crimes recently from the same campus. Staff and teachers fear the fascist communist cadre and remain silent.
Earlier, police seized weapons from the University College in a similar manner. Kerala police are yet to find the source of those confiscated items. The ABVP has demanded a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
