The Ruthless Killing Of A Defence-Less Kashmiri

Yesterday, Bharat’s security forces (comprising the Indian army, and Kashmiri police, which is nearly 100% Kashmiri Muslim) killed the head of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen in South Kashmir—Sabzar Ahmad Bhat in village Saimuh in Baramulla.

Immediately, Pakistan appealed to the international community to stop the “ruthless killing of defence-less Kashmiris” by Bharat’s security forces.  Let us expose the absolute ridiculousness of this assertion.

First of all, let us take a look at the dead body of Sabzar Ahmad Bhat. Sure looks very defenceless, doesn’t he?  A fully automatic assault rifle, with a grenade launcher (the cylindrical device below the barrel) attached, with multiple magazines to boot, is not enough for his defence. I suppose he should have had a personal F-16, and a few battle tanks for Pakistan to certify him as “adequately defended.”  Readers may note that his weapons are likely more powerful than the standard issue INSAS rifle Bharat’s soldiers have to use.

Here is a picture of Sabzar Ahmad Bhat in happier times, flashing the infamous Salafi-Jihadi “tawheed” sign (one finger pointed upwards, made infamous by ISIS in recent times).

Now to the “ruthless” part.   There are two points readers may wish to know:

  • This encounter was initiated by Sabzar Ahmad Bhat. Yesterday, his team fired on a patrol of Rashtriya Rifles. This was widely reported in the papers (ex, see http://www.ndtv.com/india-news/terrorists-open-fire-at-security-forces-in-jammu-and-kashmirs-tral-1704463). At the time, it was not clear who had fired, it was only later learnt that Sabzar Ahmad Bhat was in that team.
  • In the case of Burhan Wani (a bigger commander than Sabzar Ahmad Bhat), Bharat’s security forces tried, till 2 weeks before his death, to convince him to drop the gun and join the mainstream, suggesting alternatives such as “stand for elections” etc. (this was revealed in an in-depth report by India Today’s local correspondents, using sources inside the security forces). No other security force in the world is likely to offer such humane outreaches to sworn jihadi enemies of the state. I do not know for sure whether such outreaches were offered to Sabzar Ahmad Bhat, but likely they were, since they are part of Bharat’s security strategy in combating terror in the state.

I end this post by wishing Bharateeya Muslims (including those in Kashmir) a happy Ramzan.  May our country become a beacon of goodwill and prosperity.  Every true Bharateeya Muslim will regard the end of Hizbul’s top terrorist today as a good start to Ramzan. It is these people who are the greatest enemies of the Kashmiri Muslims.  Look at what Bharat tried to do—get such a person to join the mainstream, and live his life. Look at what Pakistan made sure he did—not leave the gun, and end his life at a very young age.  Who is the true friend, and who is the wolf in sheep’s clothing here?

  3. These are cruel , fundamentalist terrorist. They should be killed immediately. Good social people do not walk in the town with machine guns.
