RSS functionary attacked allegedly by Islamists after he objected to dumping meat scraps in his property

An RSS functionary has been brutally attacked allegedly by Islamists in Tamil Nadu. He is under treatment after sustaining grievous injuries in head during the attack. Hindu organisations suspect the hand of Islamists as he had objected to a Muslim man dumping meat scraps in his property.

Ravikumar, a resident of Theni district is an office bearer of Dharm Jagran Manch. He runs an automobile spare parts shop and owns a tamarind grove as well. On January 6, as he was on his way to open the shop in the morning, he was waylaid by 4 people who abused him using obscene language. They attacked him using iron rods and sickles and ran away. He sustained 4 severe wounds in the attack and was admitted to the government hospital by police who arrived at the spot.

Even though top officials like the Superintendent of Police are involved in the investigation, they haven’t been able to find the attackers. Police have been checking CCTV footage of the attack spot and the cameras on the routes leading to Kerala border as well to identify the culprits and catch them. 4 teams have been formed to catch them.

Hindu organisations allege that Islamists are behind the attack. On January 2, Ravikumar was assaulted by one Abdul Razaq. Ravikumar had objected to Razaq dumping meat scraps in his tamarind grove as a result of which he was assaulted by the latter. Ravikumar had lodged a complaint against him for the same.
