Popular Front of India leaders arrested in RSS member murder case

A Popular Front of India (PFI) Palakkad district secretary was arrested for his role in the murder of RSS member Melemuri Sreenivasan. Abubakar Siddique, a resident of Pattambi, was arrested by the special investigation team. Siddique helped the accused PFI killers to hide and participated in the murder conspiracy. Palakkad Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) Anil Kumar confirmed that Sreenivasan was murdered at the instance of top PFI leaders. Police have recovered digital devices.

Siddique first instructed retaliation for the murder of PFI killer Subair in Elapulli, Palakkad. Sreenivasan, a former RSS Palakkad district Sharirik Shikshan Pramukh was hacked to death on April 16 by PFI terrorists. Siddique participated in conspiracies at various places along with the assassins.

Siddique then helped the gang that killed Sreenivasan escape and facilitated hideouts. He is a crucial PFI leader who controls the entire PFI operations in the Palakkad district. He was arrested after a detailed investigation following the statement received from those arrested earlier. With this, the number of PFI cadre arrested in the Sreenivasan murder case has increased to twenty-seven.

Siddique wanted Sreenivasan dead within twenty-four hours of Subair’s murder and made a proper plan. Each PFI killer was given a separate task. The police said that after the murder, the decision, including the escape route, was planned by Siddique.

Sirajuddin – PFI ‘Reporter’ from Malappuram

Last week, Kerala police finally arrested Malappuram resident Sirajuddin for his role in the murder of RSS activist Sreenivasan. Sirajuddin is allegedly the one who set up hiding for the killers. Police said Sirajuddin had a pen drive with a video of PFI killers hacking RSS worker Sanjith to his death. His case is even more disturbing since it involves intelligence failure.

Sirajuddin is accused number 38 out of 39 in the Sreenivasan murder (12 yet to be arrested). He has a history of hiding Popular Front leaders engaged in numerous homicide cases. Reports suggested that Sirajuddin is charged with assisting the accused in the hand chopping case of Malayalam professor TJ Joseph for blasphemy in 2010.

Sirajuddin is also accused of hiding RSS worker Sanjith’s killers. PFI killers waylaid Sanjith and his wife in broad daylight early on November 15, 2021. They hacked him over 50 times, leaving him in a pool of blood. Sirajuddin kept the footage of Sanjith being hacked on a pen drive. Sirajuddin is an active PFI activist and PFI’s area reporter.

Disturbingly, police recovered a list containing photographs and information of 12 RSS-BJP Malappuram workers from Sirajuddin. Police are investigating why he had such a list but going by PFI history, those on the list are just not safe.

Police said that Sirajuddin participated in the conspiracy an hour before Sreenivasan was assassinated. The conspiracy took place at Palakkad District Hospital. The assassination occurred less than 24 hours after someone hacked and killed a PFI killer named Subair. Authorities had kept Subair’s body at the Palakkad district hospital mortuary. The place was swarming with police, yet Sirajuddin and his crew stayed and conspired there.

The original conspiracy to eliminate Sreenivasan occurred at a ground behind the Palakkad district hospital mortuary around 1 am on April 16. Police say that Sirajuddin contacted the killers an hour before the murder and later helped hide them. Sreenivasan was killed around 1 pm on April 16. Six killers on two bikes arrived in front of SKS Autos in Melamuri. Three persons rushed into the shop and hacked Sreenivasan.

Police collected CCTV footage showing that some of the accused had reached the district hospital before and after the Sreenivasan murder. A post-mortem revealed that Srinivasan had severe injuries all over his body. About ten deep wounds were found all over the body. He received three cuts on his head alone and had deep gashes on his legs and arms.

Several such undercover PFI death squads with RSS hit lists are believed to exist in Kerala. Police have not made public the leaders on Sirajuddin’s list. The ease with which such a PFI cadre with a history of violence can operate so freely is surprising. Even police personnel who conspired in Sreenivasan’s murder was arrested earlier. Others arrested include an Imam from a mosque in Palakkad.
