Police Busts Racket Run by a Man Doing Fraud in Army Recruitment

The racket of fabricating fake certificates came into light when Jabalpur police was investigating a rape case of an adolescent girl. Talib, the perpetrator in the case is accused of duping and raping an adolescent girl. When the police arrived at the crime scene, they found seals of Army Officer, many fake certificates and other equipment. Police suspects that the accused Sharif alias Fahim used to fabricate fake certificates for recruitment into army and other government agencies. The accused is being put through intensive interrogation. Currently, the police has filed a case of fraud against him.

According to the police, Cantt resident Talib raped an adolescent girl on 28th April. The victim told that she knew the perpetrator since the last two years. The mother of the victim was out of house on 19th April. Taking advantage of the situation Talib arrived at her home and took her to his friend Sharif alias Fahim’s residence in Sadar Gali No. 10. He then drugged the cold drink she drank which made her unconscious and then raped her. As per the investigation, foreign substance was mixed in her cold drink after which she was raped.

SP Kumar Saurabh told that Cantt police arrived at the house of accused’s friend on Tuesday. Various seals related to NCC officer, School, Army officer were found at his house. Sharif told during the investigation that he along with his partner Atul Maseeh, resident of Issaeh Mohalla Gorakhpur used to fabricate fake mark-sheets and certificates. 14 seals, 2 pendrives, 10 fake mark-sheets, 3 birth certificates, 8 NCC certificates, 1 sports certificate, 2 domicile certificates, 1 relation certificate, 1 aadhar card and other valid papers were seized from the scene. The accused Sharif was arrested by the police. The police team then arrived at the accused’s partner Atul’s house where 3 seals, stamp pad, electronic equipment used to create the fake certificates, CPU, printer, monitor, keyboard and mouse were seized.

Police has taken both the accused into custody. Further investigation revealed that both the accused used to make fake NCC certificates, increase marks in the mark-sheet and decrease the date of birth of candidates of other districts and towns to benefit them in army recruitment. They used to furnish fabricated mark-sheets giving the candidates numbers of their choice, birth certificates and other forged certificates in return for money. The police has registered a case of rape and fraud against the accused. Police officials have said that further investigation may make some startling revelations regarding the recruitment process of the army. The accused are being interrogated under the police remand.
