Boy Student Exposes Paedophile Priest Teaching in Christian School in Chennai – Police Yet to Arrest Priest

In a recent incident at Tiruvottiyur in Chennai, a Christian pastor was found to have forced a student to have a homosexual relationship with him. In a report published in tamil media website polimernews.com regarding this matter, it is said that the pastor tried to exploit the student’s poverty.

The student, studying in a Christian school operating in the Tiruvottiyur suburb of Chennai with more than 1000 students, was first admonished by the pastor who is the Vice Principal of the school for not wearing proper uniform. When the boy cited his family’s poverty and the demise of his father as the reasons for his situation, the pastor gave him 1000 rupees and asked him to buy a new uniform. Following this, the pastor started pestering the boy for sexual favors.

The pastor invited the boy to watch homosexual videos with him and also started making obscene phone calls. As a result of this harassment, the student went into depression and talked about the matter with his family members. Following this, the student recorded the obscene phone calls of the pastor and shared it with his school mates. The pastor also asked for the student’s help in arranging his class girls for him to have a physical relationship.

Once the recorded obscene calls by the priest spread like wildfire across the school, there was a huge protest by the students asking for the dismissal of the pastor from the school. On hearing about this incident, the police rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the students to stop the protest. The police is currently conducting an ‘enquiry’. Meanwhile several parents have also shown their concern over this attitude of the pastor who is currently the vice principal of the school.

The question being asked by many is why police has not arrested the paedophile priest as yet, especially when there is concrete evidence in the form of his recorded obscene conversations with a student? Is the police afraid that any action against the priest could trigger the wrath of the powerful Christian lobby that pulls the strings in Dravidian politics?
