Nagaland Pastor Rapes Minor, Another Man Uploads Video

A 60-year-old pastor at a church in Nagaland was arrested Monday for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district. Police also arrested a 35-year-old man for recording the crime and uploading it on social media, reports The Times of India.

The pastor was identified as Chandra Kumar Pradhan. On October 29, he called the girl to a garden near his house, where he raped her and then fled. He had been on the run since then.

Sub-divisional police officer (Bokajan), Swetank Mishra said, “The girl did not say anything to her parents on the day of the assault. She told them on October 31, and they filed a complaint on the same day .”

Mishra said the pastor, after fleeing his home, changed his location several times and was finally arrested from a hotel in Nagaland’s Kohima district. Pradhan has been charged for rape under the IPC and aggravated sexual assault under the Pocso Act.
