Vakil Pathan & family charged for assaulting BJP workers during victory procession: Indore

In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a case has been filed against four family members for reportedly assaulting BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) workers during a victory procession following the party’s substantial triumph in the Madhya Pradesh assembly election. The incident occurred on Sunday (3 December) night as the BJP workers’ procession passed by the residence of Vakil Pathan.

According to a police official from Khajrana police station, Pathan initiated a confrontation with the procession participants, engaging in verbal and physical assault against them. In an escalation of the altercation, Pathan’s wife, Shabnam, threw boiling water from the house’s rooftop onto the BJP workers.

The accused family members, including Vakil Pathan, his wife Shabnam, and their two sons, are facing charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. The charges include Section 294 for an obscene act, Section 323 for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 324 for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means, and Section 506 for intimidation.

Khajrana police station in-charge Umrao Singh stated that the investigation into the matter is currently underway. The incident occurred amid the celebratory atmosphere of the BJP’s landslide victory, where they secured 163 of the 230 seats in the Madhya Pradesh assembly.
