What can be termed as a befitting reply to beating-around-the-bush attitude by Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi on Bhartiya army’s surgical strikes in PoK, wife of a martyred soldier condemned the political jibes on conducting of surgical strikes. Dharamwati, the widow of martyr Lance Naik Hemraj – who was one of the two soldiers brutally killed by Pakistani troops on LoC near Mendhar sector of Jammu in Janury 2013, has condemned the questioning on surgical strikes by Rahul Gandhi & Arvind Kejriwal and his party AAP.  Martyr Hemraj was brutally beheaded by Pakistani soldiers and his head was missing from site of incident, the incident had caused a nation wide furor.

Martyr Hemraj’s elder brother Puran Singh had said then, “The government should get my brother’s head back to give his body its dignity.”

‘On AAP and Congress leaders’ doubts about the strikes and their subsequent demand for the proofs, Dharamwati said, instead of asking for proof, they should appreciate the role of the Army. “Is he (Arvind Kejriwal) running the Delhi government or playing politics?”

Dharamwati, critical of such leaders said, “If they want proof, they should go to Pakistan and do politics. They should not talk about the Army like that. They should leave the country.”

Lauding the surgical strikes, Dharamwati said she’s proud that the death of Indian soldiers had been avenged. In a reference to Rahul Gandhi, she said, “When my husband was killed, Congress was in power and no one came to ask about my welfare. Nobody helped me then. I am glad that the present government has avenged the deaths of our soldiers.” She added that she was in favour of this new eye-for-an-eye policy.

“People doubting the strikes are demoralizing the armed forces,” she said.’

Various leaders of AAP & Congress like Rahul Gandhi,  Sanjay Nirupam, Arvind Kejriwal, Kapil Mishra & more have either mocked the surgical strikes or questioned the government for proofs in the name of ‘countering Pak agenda’. The ‘Khoon Ki Dalali’ jibe by Rahul Gandhi demeaned the national security issue into a political one.

When USA conducted elimination strike on Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan, there was absolutely no release of any ‘proof’ until later AL-Qaeda itself vowed to avenge the killing of Laden. The decision to not release any photographic or DNA evidence of Laden’s death to the public was controversial but maintained the secrecy of the operation. The safety of our armed forces, the secrecy of our methods and techniques, are more important than providing quick proofs to the opposition and political opportunists.
