Mysterious posters saying “Bless Tamil Nadu Jesus” cropped up in every part of Tamilnadu a few days back. Some were even pasted on the compound wall of a temple and inside the temple near Nandi murti. Many criticised such fanaticism by missionaries saying perhaps they feel emboldened as DMK is predicted to come back to power by sweeping the 2021 assembly elections.

Curiously the posters didn’t have any address of the printing press which made it difficult to find out who was behind the act. On coming to know that these posters appeared on temple walls, Indu Makkal Katchi(IMK) Chennai in-charge E.C. Kannan has filed a complaint with the police asking them to find out who printed and pasted such posters in an attempt to hurt the feelings of Hindus.

IMK also issued an ultimatum that if these posters weren’t removed by those who put it up before April 14, Tamil New Year, IMK will put up posters in all religious worship places saying “Return to your mother religion dear brothers..Eshwara wishes for your change of heart”. However before the IMK could do that Akhila Bharata Hindu Mahasabha has put up posters saying “Shiva, Eshwaran of Sarvalokas please save Jerusalem”‘.

Many denominations of the church openly supported DMK and asked their laity to vote for those who practice ‘secularism’. Some outrightly abused Hindus with one of them describing the majority Hindus as mosquitoes who could be swatted away. In the Christmas celebratory event organised by DMK candidate Inigo Irudayaraj, a woman said that even hearing the name Hindu made her feel like her body was on fire. DMK chief MK.Stalin was also present on the stage when she passed this comment to the rousing claps and laughs of Christian audience.

Such incidents and DMK’s nature of sucking up to the minorities, Christian priests predominantly like Ezra Sargunam who said whoever says that Hindu is a religion should be punched on the face, has made people weary of DMK coming to power and this poster being out up even in temples has furthered it.
