Jaunpur, UP: Missionaries kidnap a Hindu Girl, Pressurize Whole Family to Accept Christianity

In a shocking incident of using unfair means for conversion of religion, a Hindu girl was kidnapped by Christian missionaries in a village of Jaunpur, UP. Later, they pressurized the entire family of the girl to convert their faith to Christianity otherwise the girl will be killed, as reported in Hindi daily Patrika.

On Tuesday, 18th September, 2018, Gita Devi, mother of the victim who belongs to the Scheduled caste, filed a petition addressed to SDM Manglesh Dubey in the Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas camp. She has accused that a man called Rajendra Chauhan, from the same village is a Christian Missionary agent. More than 120 people from the village cooperate with him in campaigning for Christianity and forceful conversion of people.

Gita Devi told that her 22 year old daughter, due to influence, went to attend a Christian prayer meet on 28th July, 2018. Ever since then, she hasn’t returned home. They had searched for her but she is still untraceable.

The kidnappers have threatened the entire family that if they do not adopt Christianity then their daughter will suffer. They also often show obscene gestures to their younger daughter and threaten to kill the entire family. Accused also misleads people and encourages them to insult Hindu Gods and Goddesses.

Not only this, in a series of malpractices used by missionaries, they infuse some chemicals in the water and people’s health have suffered badly due to drinking that water provided by them. The woman has also accused that a chunk of her land has been taken over by them. She has urged the administration to take strict measures soon.

The activists from Vishwa Hindu Parishad have expressed resentment over spread of Christianity. They have demanded that the young woman must be rescued soon and the culprits engaged in such conversion racket must be punished.
