Hundreds of people attend last rites of Nyima Tenzin of SFF, chant “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”

Hundreds of people bid a tearful farewell to Company Leader Nyima Tenzin, who sacrificed his life on the night of 29/30 August during the operation to capture the strategic heights south of Pangong Tso. The operation resulted in Bharat dominating a large area and defeated the Chinese intentions of capturing the area.

The last rites of the fallen soldier were carried out in the remote Devachan in Leh. Multiple videos of the same were shared on social media, in which hundreds of people are seen attending the funeral. You can watch two such videos below.

The mortal remains of Nyima Tenzin were brought in an army truck, escorted by many vehicles. It was followed by hundreds of youths on motorcycles carrying flags of Bharat and Tibet.

During the funeral people raised slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai”, “Tibet Desh ki Jai”, “We salute Indian Army”and “Vikas regiment Zindabad” Nyima Tenzin was also remembered in the slogans. Buddhist chants were accompanied by the serene sound of bells, while the last rites were conducted with full military honours including gun salute.

It must be noted that this is perhaps the first time that military has openly acknowledged the sacrifice of a Tibetan soldier of SFF. It is hoped that the sacrifice of Nyima Tenzin will not go in vain and Bharat will one day not only regain the lost territory, but also help Tibetans realize their dreams.
