Hindus being prevented from visiting Charminar by Hyderabadi Islamists?

A video going viral on social media shows two youth being assaulted and heckled by a mob in what is said to be the Charminar area of Bhagyanagar (Hyderabad).

Netizens have claimed that the youth being attacked are Hindus. The video shows the two youth being slapped from behind and held by the collar/arm by two men, as others angrily question them, “Where are you from? Why did you come here?”. One of the scared-looking youth replies they came to see Charminar.

At this point, a policeman intervenes and asks the crowd to disperse.

HinduPost has not been able to independently verify this incident, and further details are awaited.

Hyderabad is currently in the grip of STSJ (Sar Tan Se Juda) Islamist protests, that were sparked by Hinduphobic stand-up comic Munawar Faruqui’s show in the city. Last year, Faruqui was booked for making sacrilegious and offensive ‘jokes’ on Hindu deities such as Sri Ram and Maa Sita derogatory and jokes Despite several pleas by local Hindus to disallow the show that was organised by Islamists close to the radical AIMIM party, the Telangana govt ensured the show went ahead with massive police cover.

In response, BJP MLA Raja Singh released a video attacking Faruqui. Although the video reportedly did not contain name Islam or its Prophet, it was deemed ‘blasphemous’ by the city’s Islamists and mass protests broke out demanding Raja Singh be beheaded/hanged. Singh was arrested on Tuesday but released the same day by a local court. Police then opened some old cases against him and re-arrested him on Thursday to pacify blood-thirsty protestors.

Incidentally, the Charminar area is also home to Bhagyalakshmi temple, a centuries-old sacred spot revered by Hindus which local Islamists despise and spread baseless theories about with help of the left-liberal media allies.

Blocking access to Charminar and the Bhagyalakshmi temple has a past precedent and quasi-legal approval from our secular state too. News editor Suresh Chavhanke was once stopped from doing darshan at the temple by police who claimed they were acting to “prevent law & order issues”.

Now, it seems that the hate triggered by Owaisi brothers and their minions has led to ordinary Hindus, looking to visit the ASI protected monument touted as Hyderabad’s iconic structure, being attacked.

The man who led the STSJ protests in Hyderabad and was instrumental in organizing the Faruqui show, JNU passout and ex-AIMIM social media head Syed Abdahu Kashaf, has declared that “Hyderabad is controlled by us (AIMIM Islamist goons)”. Has the state’s writ now stopped functioning in Hyderabad, a metropolitan city located in the heart of Bharat?

  1. Is it a crime if somebody wants to visit Charminar or Bhagyalakshmi Temple at Hyderbad? Both have iconic values and hence tourist interest. Such mistreatment meted out to the visitors is extremely disgraceful.
