Girl Thrashes Stalker in Bijnor, UP

A Dalit girl student gave a sound thrashing to a Muslim youth who was stalking and harassing her on a bus in UP’s Bijnor, Hindi daily Dainik Jagran has reported.

The girl is an MSc student and travels daily from her home in Bundki Sugar Mill area to a college in Najibabad (one of the major towns in Bijnor district). On Saturday morning, as she was getting down from the bus in Najibabad, she caught hold of one Ibne Hassan, who had been harassing her and behaving in an obscene manner.

The agitated girl dragged Hassan by his hair and gave him a sound thrashing. Soon a crowd gathered and police from the nearby Adarsh Nagar police station too arrived. But the girl was so furious that she kept on beating Hassan.

Police station in-charge Devendra Singh Dhama said that a complaint of sexual harassment and under SC/ST Act has been lodged by the girl against Ibne Hassan, resident of village Nurpur.

There is a video on social media which reportedly shows the girl beating up her harasser and stalker Ibne Hassan –

While the bold action taken by this girl is praise-worthy, this incident again throws light on the torn social & moral fabric of most parts of North-Western UP where girls cannot step out of their homes without fear of being stalked and harassed. While the Bollywood-led objectification of women plays a large part in this social epidemic, the disproportionately high number of cases involving a Muslim perpetrator and Hindu victim show that the Islamist mindset which demeans all non-Muslims & women has taken deep root in this area where Muslims constitute 41% of the population as per Census 2011, and fear of law has all but evaporated among sexual predators.

This case will also be buried by English-language MSM and our LIMPs (Left Intellectual, Media & Politicians). But if, hypothetically speaking, the accused Ibne Hassan had suffered life-threatening injuries, media would have flocked to Bijnor to project him as a victim, and we would have already seen a few columns hinting at some dark Hindutva conspiracy in the whole matter.
