Last year, during Navratri, a communal clash had broken out in the same Jayas Kotwali area of Amethi after some Muslims threw a slipper at a Durga murti being taken for immersion. Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi is yet to make any statement on these disturbances in his constituency, but has all the time in the world to speak up on incidents in Una, Gujarat and Bhima Koregaon, Maharashtra.
