A Class IX student committed suicide in Usthi, South 24-Parganas, late on Thursday after a youth uploaded morphed photographs of her on a social networking site. Family members found her hanging from the ceiling.
Accused Farukh Mondal, a resident of the same locality, is absconding, an officer of Usthi police station said.
“Mondal had been disturbing her over the past two months. He then uploaded a few morphed photographs of her on the networking site. The humiliation seems to have prompted the girl to end her life,” the officer said
