“Arvind Kejriwal accepted Rs. 2 crore illegal cash from Satyendra Jain,” says senior AAP leader Kapil Mishra

In what will be a shocking revelation to even die-hard AAP supporters, senior AAP leader Kapil Mishra today revealed that day before yesterday he personally witnessed Arvind Kejriwal accepting Rs. 2 crore cash from Satyendra Jain, a senior minister in the AAP Government. Mishra said that when he asked Kejriwal what the money was for, he got a reply that “there are some things in politics that you will understand later.”

Mishra claims that he had always trusted Kejriwal blindly till now, in the hope that he would eventually take action against the many cases of corruption and money laundering various leaders of the party are involved in. Today, Mishra met the LG to apprise him about the water tanker scam, before holding an impromptu press conference at Rajghat.

Kapil Mishra asked Arvind Kejriwal to make a public explanation about the Rs. 2 crore cash he had received from Jain. He also claimed that Jain had once told him that he (Jain) had struck a Rs. 50 crore land deal for a close relative of Kejriwal.

Kapil Mishra was sacked last evening from his water and tourism portfolios in the Delhi cabinet, ostensibly as his department had failed to resolve the city’s water problem.

Mishra, the Karwal Nagar MLA had backed senior colleague Kumar Vishwas in questioning the AAP’s line of blaming electronic voting machines for the party’s humiliation in recent polls, including Delhi’s civic election. Mishra is considered close to Vishwas. Vishwas and the party leadership recently patched up after an ugly dispute that played out in front of TV cameras.

Close observers of AAP did not buy the argument that Mishra had been sacked due to non-performance of the water ministry, as just some time back, Kejriwal was praising Delhi Jal Board for improved water supply and fiscal saving.

AAP has been embroiled in a series of controversies since its inception in late 2012. Infighting, sexual exploitation, corruption have come to define the party, which has gradually reduced itself to the ‘cult of Kejriwal’ sacrificing ideology and national interest in the bargain.

Delhi health minister Satyendra Jain is facing CBI and ED investigation for dealings with hawala operators (money launderers). He is also facing charges of nepotism for appointment of his daughter Soumya as the advisor in the health department of the city government. CBI is also probing irregularities in the appointment of Nikunj Aggarwal, a senior resident, as OSD to Delhi health minister – Nikunj Aggarwal is the son-in-law of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s sister-in-law.

But Lutyens’ media is not willing to give up on someone they have invested in so heavily over the last few years.

The salvage AAP operation to counter ‘fascist Modi’ project is likely to come to Kejriwal’s aid – after all, ‘secular’ politicians have a free pass to brazen it out as the only thing which matters for our left-liberal intelligentsia is countering Hindutva forces.
