80-year-old Hindu woman raped, her eyes attempted to be gouged out: Secular Media hides the culprit ‘Chhote Alam’, and attempts to link Hindu festival ‘Holi’ to the crime

A case of rape of an 80-year-old Dalit woman has come to light in Gopalganj district of Bihar. The incident took place on March 14, 2025. The elderly woman had gone to cut grass in her wheat fields. At that time, the accused named ‘Chhote Alam’ came there and caught hold of the woman and raped her. After that, he also tried to gouge out the eyes of the elderly woman and finally fled from there thinking her to be dead.

Details of the horrific incident

According to the information, the entire incident took place on March 14 at around 4:30 pm. The woman’s family has lodged a complaint in this regard. It was stated in the complaint that the woman was found in a half-dead state by a village girl. She told everyone about the victim and finally the woman was brought home, then a doctor was called and primary treatment was done.

The condition of the victim was so serious that she regained consciousness after 19 hours. When she told the story to everyone in her conscious state, everyone was shocked. Her son went to Syed Ali’s house after the incident, but there Syed Ali, Babuddin, Shahabuddin, Saddam, Hashmat and Jummadin pushed him out. During this time, he was also abused with casteist remarks and threatened of murder.

Apart from the main accused, the police have also registered a case against four of his family members. The SHO of Baikunthpur police station says that one arrest has been made in this case so far while the main accused is still absconding.

According to Aaj Tak’s report, Sadar SDPO Abhay Kumar Ranjan said that the victim has been taken for medical examination and the medical report has not revealed any rape. However, physical abuse has been confirmed. The officer also said that the main accused has been arrested.

The incident has led to strong reactions from Dalit rights groups and social activists, demanding swift justice and strict punishment for the accused. Some activists have also called for intervention by the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC).

Mainstream secular media hides the name of the accused, instead links Holi to the crime!

It must be mentioned that this incident of Bihar was covered by many media organizations, but some very cleverly hid the name of the accused in their reports. These include media houses like Times of India, ETV Bharat and The Observer Post.

In the Times of India report, the name of the Muslim accused was hidden and it was presented as an incident of violence and rape on Holi. The report said, on March 14, on the occasion of Holi, an 80-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly raped in Gopalganj district. The headline read, Elderly woman raped on Holi.

Similarly, in ETV Bharat, it was shown that a Dalit woman was raped on Holi and an attempt was made to gouge out her eye. However, here too, the name of the Muslim accused was hidden.

After this, ‘Observer Post’, which promotes Islamic narrative with great enthusiasm, was also seen defaming Holi festival in the name of this incident. It reported that the Dalit family was abused, but it was not told who abused them.

The question in this matter is, when the name of the accused is clearly mentioned in the complaint, why did these media organizations hide the name of the accused from their news and showed the readers that a Dalit was tortured on Holi. However, it is not surprising to see such misleading headlines in Observer Post, Times of India, and the like. There have been many such cases in the past when reports were published on these media handles hiding the identity of the accused.
