3 Incidents of Rape/Abduction/Blackmail Reported in a Single Day from Churu, Rajasthan

3 incidents of rape and sexual exploitation have been reported on a single day from Rajasthan’s Churu district by Hindi news paper Patrika.

Case 1

A married woman has lodged a complaint of abduction and rape against Shahrukh, resident of Rajpura, and 4 others. She alleged that Shahrukh obtained her phone number and photo from a relative’s phone and then started pestering her over mobile and threatened to edit her photo (to make it obscene) and make it viral. On 12 April, Shahrukh, Intezar and Arif  barged into her house and abducted her.

They took her to Jhunjhunu and from there to Mumbai, where Shahrukh raped her. After her family lodged a complaint, police retrieved her from Mumbai. Shahrukh has been charged for rape; Intezar and Arif for abduction; while Abid and Alisher have been charged for assisting Shahrukh.

Case 2

Sikandar Kayamkhani, accused of raping a minor girl in Sujangarh’s Holi Dhora mohalla was arrested on Monday. On Tuesday, he was produced before the ACJM and sent to judicial custody.

Case 3

A married woman from Ward 18 in Ratangarh has accused one Samir Kazi from her locality of secretly filming her while she was bathing and then raping her for 3 years by threatening to leak the video. He even extorted money from her. On 21 March, Kazi came to her house, raped her and took away Rs. 3 lakhs and jewellery lying in the cupboard. The woman has alleged that Kazi’s family members – Ruby, Mir, Simran, Rubina, Ruksana and Kashmira assisted him in exploiting her. Police has lodged cases against all the accused under various IPC sections.
