Why is The Wire so happy with Biden sending Eric Garcetti as ambassador to Bharat?

The Wire staff today can barely hide its satisfaction at the possibility of Eric Garcetti making it to Delhi as the new Viceroy.. sorry, ambassador.

The Wire knows, the L.A. mayor (his wife really) played the key role in crowning not only Biden but also Kamala.

Past years, rule seems to be put people with our dark skin on battle frontlines to do the dirty work. Remember CEO Paraga Agrawal, and Vijaya Gadde who threw Trump out of Twitter? We’ll soon have a Patel replace Ned Price as ‘Voice of America’. Worked with notorious Rep. Pramila Jayapal. Promising!

We naïve Bharatiyas get so excited to see people like us supposedly “taking over the West”, so why wouldn’t the West deploy more brown skins to sweeten the pill, when we’re to get lectured on Human Rights?
