Two soldiers, including an officer, were killed in a blast in J&K’s Rajouri district on Saturday.
“During an area domination patrol in Naushera sector, district Rajouri (J&K), a mine blast occurred, wherein, two Indian Army soldiers suffered critical injuries and later succumbed to their injuries. Another soldier who received injuries was evacuated and is under treatment,” Defence Ministry spokesman, Lt Col Devender Anand said as per news agency IANS.
“Lt Rishi Kumar and Sepoy Manjit Singh were brave and extremely committed to the profession of soldiering and have made the supreme sacrifice for the nation in the line of active duty,” Col Anand said.
Some reports have stated that it was an Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) blast.
While Lt Rishi Kumar was a resident of Bihar’ Begusarai, Sepoy Manjit Singh was a resident of Sirvewala in Punjab’s Bhatinda. “The nation and Indian Army shall forever remain indebted to the bravehearts for there supreme sacrifice,” the spokesman said.
Retired Maj. Gen. Sharabh Pachory was shocked and saddened at the way this news was ‘covered’ by Times of India, touted as the largest-selling English newspaper in the country. The paper had not even bothered to include the names of the martyred soldiers:
The general is spot on about the skewed priorities of our English-language mainstream media (MSM).
Any incident that can be used to vilify Hindus, cricket, Bollywood, the Nehru-Gandhi first family and Anglosphere-related news form the priority for our news editors. Despite an almost daily loss of life of both security forces and civilians at LoC with Pakistan due to Islamic terrorism, the Times Group continues to bat for ‘Aman Ki Asha’ with that terror sponsoring Islamofascist nation.
Most times, the Islamic terrorists operating in J&K are called as ‘militants’ by our MSM.
When our ‘own’ media shows such empathy and ambiguity for religiously-inspired terrorists, it is no wonder that Hinduphobic Western media dilutes the terror threat even further by labelling terrorists as ‘suspected militants’:
The media doesn’t just water down the Pakistan-sponsored terrorist threat in J&K. It even swallows Pakistani Army propaganda by labeling Balochistan freedom fighters as ‘terrorists’!
Those who claim that such labelling is not important or nothing to worry about, are living in denial or want to keep fooling Hindus.
Deploying labels is a very effective tool used by news media to condition the public and build narratives. So while on the one hand, the MSM is calling AK-47 wielding jihadi terrorists in Kashmir as ‘militants’, its affiliates brand RSS as a ‘militant Hindu organization’
Unless we contest such narratives – the constant vilification of Hindus, and the normalization of Islamic terror and hate-spewing evangelical missionaries, we shouldn’t be surprised when the next generation of Hindus grows up to self-alienated and believes the propaganda against their own people.
