Today around 7 am, controversial lawyer Prashant Bhushan, who has been convicted by the Supreme Court, tweeted something about the current situation in Bangladesh. The tweet is mentioned below and as of writing of this report had garnered 250+ retweets and 800+ likes in under 2 hours. We are also giving a screenshot of the tweet below.
Mr. Bhushan wrote in Hindi “जरूर देखिए। बांग्लादेश में कुछ अराजक तत्यौं ने अल्पसंख्यक हिंदुओं पर हमला किया। लेकिन उन हमलावरों के खिलाफ बांग्लादेश के लाखों बहुसंख्यक मुसलमान हिंदुओं की रक्षा में, सड़कों पर उतर आए।(sic)” In English this translates as “Do certainly watch. In Bangladesh, certain anarchic elements attacked minority Hindus. But to protest against this, lakhs of majority Muslims of Bangladesh came to the streets to protect Hindus.”

The source of this claim of Prashant Bhushan is the video he shared of a YouTube channel named as “The Live TV”. You can watch the video shared by the channel here. The video has an “anchor” narrate how the good-hearted Muslims of Bangladesh came in support of Hindus in their lakhs.
For good measure, he demonises the Hindus of Bharat as they have supposedly never come out in support of Muslims of Bharat. Then he tells how the good-hearted Muslims of Kashmir are supporting Hindus and assuring them of protection from their mosques(of course there is no video to support this) and effusively praises Sheikh Hasina and contrasts her with PM Modi.
As of writing of this, the video had 4,35,257 views, 16,000 likes and about 1400 comments. Some of the comments are given below :
The reality of the video
So what is the reality of the video? Have really the Muslims of Bangladesh, who just yesterday were lynching Hindus and burning their temples, turned angels? If not, what is this video really? Let us try to find out as AltNews will never do a factcheck of this.
This video is actually a massive protest by Hindus of Bangladesh against the continuing genocide of Hindus in that country. One can see that through many clues.
First of all, Muslims of Bangladesh in any protest wear their traditional caps. This can be verified by a simple google search as below. As one can see, in any protest by Muslims, they can easily be identified by their attire.
Secondly, one can easily see many people in the video chanting mala like the Vaisnavas do. It is a no brainer that Vaishnavas are Hindus and actually are the biggest community of Hindus in Bangladesh. We have included an example from this very video below.
The bag around their necks is very distinctive and can commonly be seen in use by Vaisnavites, including ISKCON devotees. Here is a photo from ISKCON Bangalore website for a closer view. It is unlikely that a Muslim is carrying such a bag.
Lastly, we also found a video of the same event shared by different handles on social media clearly showing that it is a Hindu protest. We are sharing some examples below:
The event was also covered by Republic TV and one can clearly hear the slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Har Har Mahadev” which are obviously not by Muslims. Clearly, Prashant Bhushan is spreading a lie shared by a YouTube channel of dubious credibility.
The YouTube channel has been a regular offender with many of its videos trying to sensationalise trivial things and many others plainly lying about events always in favour of Muslims and Congress. Some examples can be seen below.

So why did the channel share such videos and what is the motive of Prashant Bhushan in sharing such clear fake news? The plan is the same since last few decades that one can see in our textbooks, cinema and media. The secularists want to demonise the Hindus and whitewash the crimes of Muslims.
Will the government take any action on such blatantly false campaigns? Such campaigns promote false ideas of moral superiority of Muslims and are slowly making certain section of Hindus oblivious to their interests. Unfortunately, our regulating agencies still sleep soundly.
