Caravan spews more anti-Hindu bile, vilifies Ramayan, when will owners of this rabid hate-mongering outlet be jailed?

Hinduphobic (Hindudveshi) Caravan Magazine is at it again – rerunning articles full of anti-Hindu bile while Hindus celebrate one of their most important festivals i.e. Deepawali. The festival marks the return of Prabhu Sri Ram to Ayodhya with Maa Sita and Shri Laxman after slaying Ravan. Therefore, Caravan chose to vilify Ramayan.

Caravan’s false stories on Ramayan

The article written by Ushakiran Atram loses the battle in the very beginning. It starts by saying Aryans appropriated Ravan who was a ‘Gond king’ according to the author. Using the discredited Aryan invasion/migration theory itself amounts to conceding defeat.

Greek scholar Dr Nicholas Kazanas says there is no evidence of Aryans’ invasion/immigration. He further highlights that both archaeological and anthropological evidence conclusively debunks the theory but its propagators latch on to linguistic evidence that gives no date unlike the other two. When no Aryans arrived from outside, how can they appropriate any folklore?

The Hindudveshi rag also used the occasion to further its feminist agenda. “Ram and Lakshman committed this heinous and unforgivable crime against Surpanakha but are considered gods and conferred with titles such as Maryada Purushottam – the ideal man”, it said.

This is how the agenda is peddled by taking an event out of context. Surpanakha was punished for her despicable act of lusting after a married man. Facts and contexts can obviously be thrown out the window when the aim is to spread Hindu hatred.

The Caravan took its feminist agenda a step further in its Instagram quoting Saswati Sengupta. “The Ramayanas of my childhood continue to remind me of the great epic being encased in female sorrow and tears”, opines Sengupta. She insinuates that the Itihasa is male-centric that makes no ‘investment’ in female bonds.

Busting Caravan’s propaganda

The myth of Ravan being a Gond king has been busted by The Organiser but we would like to point out the lyrics of one of the songs sung by Gond women during Deepawali. The song highlights that the Gonds are opposed to Ravan’s evil deeds.

Evidence on record shows that Gonds worshipped Sri Hari Vishnu. This is confirmed by an inscription found in the Mandla fort of the Gonds which begins with salutations to Bhagwan Vishnu. Additionally, it would be contextual to highlight the linguistic gymnastics used by Atram in her article. Gondi (the language of the Gonds) belongs to the Dravidian language family while the word Ravan comes from the Sanskrit language of the Indo-Aryan language family.

The eighteenth Gond lingo (spiritual leader) was Raaven (रावेन). Furthermore, no paatas (Gondi songs) record Raaven being killed by Sri Rama. It must be mentioned that stories of Gond kings were passed on orally. In other words, Raaven got distorted as Ravana due to Apabhransh.

It is amply clear that Atram bases her entire story on linguistics which scholars consider unreliable as it can’t be dated. On the other hand, inscriptions by Gond kings point to the contrary and puncture leftist propaganda. The Marxists have distorted and destroyed Gond history for their propaganda. Contrary to Marxist propaganda, Kawardha Gond kings don’t just celebrate Dussehra but also perform Ravan Dahan.

Ravan was a Brahmin who traced his ancestry to Rishi Pulastya who was his grandfather. He was the son of Rishi Vishrava. In Valmiki Ramayan, Ravan even describes himself to Maa Sita as being of Brahmin lineage. Furthermore, several Brahmin communities across Bharat claim to be descendants of Ravan.

Sengupta’s comment about Ramayan making no investment in female bonds is also unfounded. The Itihasa speaks of the deep bond shared by Maa Sita and her sisters. Ramayan also highlights the friendly relationship between Raja Dashrath’s wives, Kausalya, Kaikeyi, and Sumitra.

Anti-Hindu Caravan

Earlier this month, reran an article propagating the lie of Nalanda University being destroyed by ‘Hindu fanatics’ and spared by Islamists has been peddled often by the leftist-secular media. The Caravan repeatedly replugs this misleading article penned by Marxist historian DN Jha. Jha has been repeating this brazen lie about Nalanda being destroyed by “Hindu fanatics” for many years now, despite several rebuttals – the most telling one being by Arun Shourie in his book Eminent Historians: Their Technology, Their Line, Their Fraud.

The Caravan magazine is arguably the most virulent anti-Hindu media outlet in contemporary times, which takes some doing looking at the long line of competitors it has in this space like Scroll, The Wire, News Laundry, The Print, Quint, Indian Express, The Hindu etc.
