Six new corridors to welcome pilgrims at Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj

In preparation for the grand Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, the Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, unveiled six new corridors in Prayagraj. These corridors, designed to enhance the spiritual experience of pilgrims, are part of the state’s efforts to ensure a seamless and memorable Kumbh Mela.

The first of these corridors, dedicated to Bhagwan Hanuman, has already been completed. This corridor, located near the iconic reclining Hanuman Temple, showcases the life and teachings of Hanumanji through intricate artwork and sculptures. The corridor features detailed depictions of key events from Hanumanji’s life, including his devotion to Bhagwan Rama, his meeting with Mata Sita, and the burning of Lanka. The aim is to educate and inspire devotees while providing a serene environment for worship.

In addition to the Hanuman Temple Corridor, five other corridors are set to be inaugurated. These include:

  1. Mankameshwar Temple Corridor – Situated on the banks of the Yamuna River, this corridor will provide pilgrims with easy access to the ancient Mankameshwar Temple.
  2. Maa Alopshankari Corridor – Dedicated to the goddess Alopshankari, this corridor will highlight her significance in Hindu mythology.
  3. Nagvasuki Temple Corridor – This corridor will lead devotees to the Nagvasuki Temple, a site of immense spiritual importance.
  4. Padila Mahadev Corridor – Connecting pilgrims to the Padila Mahadev Temple, this corridor will offer a tranquil path for worship and reflection.
  5. Takshak Tirtha Corridor – This corridor will provide access to the sacred Takshak Tirtha, a site associated with ancient rituals and legends.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during his visit to Prayagraj on January 9, inspected the preparations for the Maha Kumbh Mela and reviewed the progress of these corridors. He emphasized the importance of creating a world-class infrastructure to accommodate the millions of pilgrims expected to attend the event.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, held once every 12 years, is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. It is a time when devotees from across the globe converge in Prayagraj to take a holy dip at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, believed to cleanse sins and grant liberation (moksha).

In addition to the corridors, the state government has also set up a massive tent city near the Sangam Ghat, equipped with modern amenities to ensure the comfort of pilgrims. A dedicated media center and a Uttar Pradesh Pavilion have also been established to showcase the cultural and spiritual heritage of the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Prayagraj to inaugurate several projects worth approximately ₹7,000 crore, further boosting the city’s infrastructure and readiness for the Maha Kumbh Mela.

With these developments, the Uttar Pradesh government aims to make the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 a landmark event, blending spirituality, culture, and modernity to create an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
