These holy men, known for their austere lifestyles and warrior-like appearances, play a central role in the rituals and traditions of the Kumbh Mela, especially during the Amrit Snan. The Naga Sadhus are integral to the Kumbh Mela, particularly during the Amrit Snan, a ritualistic holy dip in the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.

This ritual, believed to cleanse sins and grant salvation, is the spiritual climax of the Kumbh Mela……”
