“Ujjain: Mosque among other buildings demolished for the expansion of the Mahakaleshwar Temple corridor”, Opindia, January 11, 2025:

“The Ujjain district administration began demolishing permanent structures, including houses and a mosque in Nizammudin Colony, on Sunday to expand the Mahakaleshwar Temple Corridor Project.

As part of preparations for the 2028 Ujjain Simhastha, Rs 33 crore of a Rs 66 crore compensation package was paid to evicted residents. The cleared land will be used for parking expansion and a Pravachan Hall.

On the first day, around 50 structures, including Takia Masjid, were removed without major resistance. Heavy police presence ensured order, with prior announcements made on Saturday……”
