“Delhi Police cracks down on illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants following LG Saxena’s strict order”, Swarajyamag, December 12, 2024:

“A day after Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena directed the Delhi Police Commissioner to take “strict action” against “illegal Bangladeshi immigrants” in the Capital, the police launched a crackdown on such individuals on Wednesday (11 December).

The drive was conducted in multiple areas of the city, including Kalindi Kunj, Uttam Nagar, Shaheen Bagh, and Jamia Nagar, where officers inspected documents of residents in slums, footpaths, and unauthorised colonies, according to the police.

“Some of them who did not have proper documents have been brought to the police station for questioning… If they are found to be illegal immigrants, they would be deported,” said a police official…..”
