On the afternoon of 16th of May, Friday BSF detained a Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrator near the Bharat-Bangladesh International border of Coochbehar district of West Bengal. 

The detained individual has been identified as Muhammad Selim Ansari. Selim Ansari is originally a resident of Koxsbazar district of Bangladesh. But, four years ago, he illegally entered Bharat.

During the interrogation, Muhammad Selim Ansari revealed that he came to Bharat four years ago illegally. He went to the Murshidabad district and started living there. In Murshidabad, with the help of local agents, he made Adhar Card and Pan Card and opened bank account. 

After few months, he moved to a small town of Murshidabad named Beldanga. There, he started working as a teacher in a local madrasa. After that, he started working as an Imam in a local mosque. 

While he was working as an Imam, he came to know that West Bengal government gives monthly salary to Imams. He applied for it and since then, he has been receiving salary from the West Bengal government every month. 

Recently, he wanted to visit Bangladesh for a few as his elder brother is ill. To go to Bangladesh, he paid money to agents. When he was trying to enter Bangladesh through the Tin Bigha corridor, BSF jawans detained him. Later, he was handed over to the Mekhliganj Police Station.
