A Head Constable of the Tamil Nadu police department has been suspended for sharing nationalist pro-RSS and BJP content in his Facebook page. Some people reportedly ‘informed’ the cyber crime wing of his behaviour following which the department has initiated action against him.
Suresh, a Head Constable posted at Ambathurai police station in Dindigul district has been suspended for posting about and sharing nationalistic pro-BJP and Hindutva posts on his timeline. His Facebook page was reportedly checked by cybercrime officials based on a complaint. They allegedly found it to be true and the Superintendent of Police suspended him citing Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Police Officers conduct Rules.
Even though his Facebook account is still active his recent posts and shares couldn’t be seen. Higher officials had also called Suresh’s friends on Facebook whose posts he shared. A Siva Sena functionary and a few other Hindu outfit members were reportedly called for investigation. The Shiv Sena functionary told media that he was told that he will be interrogated about Suresh’s posts criticising the state government and in favour of the central government.
But they were sent off and told to “not make it a big issue” and not “talk to the media”. Condemning the cop’s suspension he said that DMK should learn to take criticism instead of indulging in revenge tactics.
DMK sympathising social media influencers have been stalking profiles of government servants who are even mildly pro-BJP. Ilakkiya, a DSP under training, was stalked by DMK supporters for liking BJP state president K Annamalai’s tweets and pro-BJP and anti-DMK tweets from Twitter users. She had to delete her account after they harassed her for having a different ideological orientation.
Despite acknowledging that people can have different ideological stands, DMK supporters “warned” the DMK government to “be careful” of her. Sai Lakshmikanth Bharathi, son of influential RS MP RS Bharathi narrated an incident in which DMK sympathising police officers saying that they have been making police officers with different ideological orientation as “dummy”. The DMK MP had said in the past that SC ST people reaching higher positions in judiciary is an alms provided by Karunanidhi.
The Dravidian ideology is the most vile and racist ideologies on earth and on par with the anti-Semitic Nazi ideology. It thrives by targeting the Brahmin community for the faults of intermediary castes. So it is no wonder that it would want to get rid of people with a different ideological stand from influential positions lest its vile methods get exposed.
