Another case of grooming jihad that ended a young Hindu girl’s life was reported from Kerala. Naushid (31) brutally stabbed and killed Reshma Ravi (26) in a hotel room in Kochi, Kerala. Kerala Police arrested the accused and found the weapon used to kill Reshma. The weapon was recovered from the premises of the nearby house after police brought the accused to the spot on Thursday evening and collected evidence.

It was found that Reshma faced brutal mental and physical torture in the hotel room. A brutal murder followed this. The police had found that the accused had recorded the horrifying footage of Reshma’s ‘trial’ on his mobile phone before killing her.

Reshma and Naushid first connected on Instagram. Naushid groomed the young Hindu girl and she fell for the grooming jihad trap. The murder happened when Reshma was persuaded to a hotel by Naushid, who then confronted her about their breakup. When Reshma refused to end the connection, an altercation occurred, and Naushid later admitted to stabbing her from behind.

On Wednesday night, there was an argument between the two at a hotel following which Naushid stabbed the young woman several times in the neck with a knife and injured her. Neighbors who heard the cries informed the police. When the police arrived, they found her dead body covered in blood.

According to the police, there are previous cases of attempted murder against him. Naushid, a resident of Balusheri, Kozhikode, who was caught by the police, is the caretaker of the same hotel. The accused told the police that both of them have known each other through social media for about three years. Reshma was working as a lab assistant. The Hindu victim was from Changanassery, Kottayam.

The accused claimed the young woman had cast evil spells to endanger him. Naushid now swears Reshma told her male friend about his ‘physical weakness’. Naushid allegedly then chose Taliban model laws and eliminated Reshma. Did he consult with his grooming jihad handlers remains unknown. However, the police are yet to take his words at face value.

This is the second grooming jihad ending in death reported from Kerala in the past month. Aditya Chandran (22), a young Hindu lady was found dead in a rented house. On 13 July, Aditya was found dead in a rented room near Ganapatikunnu, Kozhikode. She was an employee at a Mall in Kozhikode. Aditya was staying with 22-year-old Parakkal Muhammad Amal from Mavoor in Kozhikode. There were allegations that she is a victim of grooming jihad (‘love’ jihad).
