NIMHR official Md. Ashfaq spews anti-Hindu hate in lectures, converts premier institute into madrasa: MP

The National Institute of Mental Health Rehabilitation (NIMHR) is a Central Autonomous Institute under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. It is located at Sehore, Madhya Pradesh and is the only institute of its sort, tasked with developing trained professionals and engaging in research to promote mental health rehabilitation using an integrated multidisciplinary approach.

But shockingly, an Islamist man appears to have been put in a position of influence in this institute. It is a well recorded fact across the world that madrasas, i.e. Islamic religious schools, are the hubs of radicalization and foster a rigid, unscientific outlook, which pervades deep in the consciousness even if the child later goes on to acquire a modern college education.

From the complaints that are emerging from NIMHR, it definitely looks like a madrasa-product, a breed that are themselves in need of extensive mental counselling, has now been put in charge of a mental rehabilitation institute!

Several students of NIHMR have sent a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office, claiming that Mohammad Ashfaq, the Deputy Registrar of NIMHR, is spreading Hindu-hatred and harassing Hindu students. They alleged that Ashfaq made deeply offensive statements against Draupadi, a central protagonist of the sacred Hindu epic Mahabharata. As per students, Ashfaq said that “Draupadi’s mental condition had to be off, otherwise she would have objected to being disrobed in front of the entire court. She seemed to be a psychopath.

When contacted by OpIndia, Ashfaq defended himself – admitting that he did take a guest lecturer class (despite being on the administrative post of Deputy Registrar) where he discussed Mahabharata ‘with utmost respect’. He alleged that the students who had complained against him are ‘those with low attendance’ that he barred from taking exams. However, OpIndia’s investigation shows that Ashfaq’s claims are patently false, and he is running the institute like a dictator.

Multiple complaints and serious charges against Md. Ashfaq

In the three-page letter sent to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on December 16, 2022, which has also been sent to Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Virendra Kumar Khatik, the students accused Ashfaq of running the institute arbitrarily, taking classes despite not being a lecturer, misrepresenting historical Hindu characters, and threatening students with ruining their careers.

Ashfaq also gives undue benefits to the people of his community, who live in the vicinity of this institute, the letter states. It has also been said that the atmosphere of the institute was not like this before the appointment of Mohammad Ashfaq. He has turned the institute into a ‘madhouse’ with his Islamist bigotry, the students say.

These students were forced to send this letter due to immense mental pressure exerted by Ashfaq. “Immediately pay attention to the institute or else it will become a complete jihadi base. He (Mohammed Ashfaq) threatens to spoil our future, so sending this letter to you without signing. You must save this national asset from Jihadis,” the letter concludes.

Ashfaq is also charged with controlling every department, including academics and research departments, despite being totally unqualified, and of arbitrarily dismissing employees who stand up to his whimsical ways. He is also accused of monitoring patients who come to the facility for psychiatric treatment, a highly dangerous breach of medical ethics. It could also hint at involvement of a larger Islamist network, as many grooming and dawah predators specifically target vulnerable Hindus.

Of course, behind every brazen Isamist lies a tale of apathy by HINOs (Hindus in Name Only) and the secular state. Ashfaq has created havoc in the institute despite being appointed to his post a mere 6 months ago. Current director Rajesh Yadav has not even visited NIMHR even once, it is said, and his dereliction of duty has allowed Ashfaq to have a free rein. When OpIndia contacted Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Virendra Kumar Khatik, they received no response from him or his office to these extremely serious charges.

This is not the first instance of beleaguered students complaining to authorities about anti-Hindu environment on educational campuses with Abrahamics at the helm. In another recent case from MP, Government Law College in Indore, Madhya Pradesh was in the news for promoting anti-Hindu, anti-Bharat views, and grooming jihad. The mass protests by students finally forced several professors to be suspended/sacked and the Principal Dr. Inamur Rahman to resign.

When MP Police probed the Indore case and found the charges made by students to be prima facie true, they moved to arrest Rahman, but as expected, the Supreme Court overruled the MP High Court to stay the Principal’s arrest and ridiculed the MP Police instead.

One can expect similar five-star treatment by our apex court (currently controlled by the unconstitutional Collegium) and the Lutyens’ legal cabal led by Kapil Sibal for Md. Ashfaq, if the state and central governments wake up from their slumber and try to perform their Rajdharma.
