Woman restaurateur assaulted by Islamists in Kerala for serving non-halal food and pork

Alleged Halal mafia beat up a woman entrepreneur in Ernakulam, Kerala for serving non-halal meat and pork. The victim Thushara Ajith Kallayil blamed the police and administration for registering cases against her, and said they are waiting to arrest her outside her hospital room. She says that economic jihadis are trying hard to wipe out Hindu businesses in and around the InfoPark area of Kakkanad in Ernakulam.

Thushara had shot to prominence when she opened the first of its kind restaurant at Palarivattom named Nandhuzzz Kitchen and openly advertised that she will sell only non-halal food. Thushara believed that consuming halal food is against Hindu & Sikh culture. The hotel never served food prepared the previous day since the leftovers were donated to orphanages. She succeeded and her eatery drew crowds in large numbers.

This success prompted her to expand and she took space at Kakkanad and has invested heavily in her new project. Thushara said that she has been receiving threats since the past week that said that she would not be allowed to display boards of non-halal food or serve pork in Kakkanad. Unhindered, she went ahead and was all set to inaugurate the place when this attack happened.

Trouble began when she visited the place a couple of days back when jihadis threatened and assaulted her. Thushara said that they tore off her clothes, punched her in the chest and kicked her in her stomach. She started urinating blood that led to her hospitalization and she has marks of the scuffle on her breasts.

Her staff ran to her help and resisted the assailants with their kitchen knives. She approached the police who not only refused to register her complaint but also ‘accused’ her of selling non-halal food. The circle inspector of police was heard asking her why she used the no-halal board. The police have even registered cases against Thushara’s husband Ajith who was not even present there when the incident happened, as per Thushara.

Thushara narrated her terrifying experience in a Facebook video:

Hindu organizations have extended support to Thushara. State BJP president K Surendran condemned the Muslim fanatics and added that what happened in Kakkanad is nothing but Talibanism. He urged the people of Kerala to reject the ‘Halal Invasion.’ It is worth noting that not a single ‘secular’ or ruling CPM leader has come out to oppose this fascism.

In any normal country, such fascism and bigoted religiously-motivated violence would invite universal condemnation and dominate national discourse. But in the sick, secular state that is today’s India, ‘national media’ is blissfully oblivious to Thushara Ajith Kallayil’s plight, and is frothing at the mouth over some imaginary ‘troll attack’ on cricketer Mohammed Shami.

In April, Christian lorry driver Shaji M Varghese was attacked by Islamic fundamentalists alleging the sale of ‘non-halal meat’. They allegedly tried to force down raw meat into his mouth, threw his meat product around, and later set his lorry ablaze in Kannur, home district of CM Pinarayi Vijayan.

The attack happened after a company called Kissan Mithra, a collective of over 6000 farmers headed by eminent personalities with rich experience in farming and dairy, had taken orders for 6500 kgs of non-halal meat to be supplied on Easter day. They had openly advertised that they will supply only non-halal meat to customers.

  1. The radical Islamist violence is growing apace in India. This must be nipped in the bud, otherwise, India will be another Bangladesh. If a seller a has a right to hawk halal meat, another seller must have the right to sell non-halal meat, since it is a secular democracy. It is his/her business interest. Certainly he/she operates the business under the proper license of the Govt. authority. Then why police personnel will question Thushara as to why she had displayed ‘Non-Halal’ signboard?
Kerala is the only state of India where literacy percentage is 100. How people belople belonging to such an elite state can indulge in religious bigotry is quite surprising!
