Another Hindu temple vandalized in Bangladesh

The story of the growing persecution of the Hindu Minority by the Muslim majority in Bangladesh is nothing new. Incidents of Hindu temple vandalization in Bangladesh are constantly on the rise. Radical Islamists once again vandalized a Hindu temple in Saghata P. S., Gaibandha District, Bangladesh.

On February 23, the local Muslim miscreants brutally vandalized the temple. They also plundered the murtis of the temple. The latest incident is one of the numerous attacks unleashed by Islamist radicals on hapless Hindu minorities of Bangladesh.

Only recently a string of brutal attacks on Hindus was reported from Bangladesh’s Mymensingh where Hindu families were attacked by a local Muslim gang of Mohammed Hafizuddin at Tarakanda Upazila Mymensingh district of Bangladesh with the intention of evicting them from their land. The family members were badly injured. The attackers did not even spare the women and their houses were also vandalized.

A similar incident of land jihad was reported in the second week of February. The Hindu minority family of Gobinda Shil was attacked by GM Khalil and his accomplices in Kalibari village of Kalmegha union, Patharghata Upazila, Barguna district of Bangladesh in an illegal attempt to prohibit them from cultivating their own land.

Even the murti of Devi Saraswati was vandalized in the Nasirnagar police station area of Brahmanbaria district, Bangladesh on the eve of Pujo. Jihadis vandalized the Saraswati murti which local Hindus were still giving shape as preparations for Saraswati Pujo were going on in full swing at Kutai village like every year. The preparations were in the final stage when Jihadis vandalized the murti and mutilated its parts.

Every time after a temple vandalization incident, the police come and assure that they will investigate. But the reality is that the poor Hindus know for sure that this is just an assurance given by the police and that it will never be implemented.
