Celebrating the heritage of this glorious nation, this conclave is centered on ‘Adi Shankaracharya’, the great sage who played a pivotal role in the evolutionary journey of Bharatvarsha.

ABOUT THE THEME : ADI SHANKARACHARYA

There was a time when spirituality and religion were linked with stereotypes and outdated practices. The clashes between the various sects and cults had led to discord and antagonism. Adi Shankaracharya spread the truth about Sanatan Dharma. He preached how the eternal religion teaches about human welfare and looks at life in a holistic way.

Adi Shankaracharya was born in a village named Kalady in Kerala. At a very young age he became a hermit and thus, began the journey of seeking and spreading truth. He travelled throughout the Bharatiya subcontinent; established the four mathas; participated in theological debates with scholars from various religions and gave philosophical knowledge through the doctrine of Advaita Vedanta.

The life of Jagadguru has elaborate accounts of his achievements, efforts and philosophical works. His contributions encompass all the spheres including religious, cultural, philosophical and political. Each of the following four themes given for the research conclave is to ensure a deeper dwelling into the particular aspect :

  1. Religious Reformations and the Revival of Sanatan Dharma by Adi Shankaracharya
  2. Cultural renaissance by Adi Shankaracharya
  3. The concept of Non-Dualism – Philosophy of Advaita Vedanta
