Hindu calendar app: Hindu panchang on your fingertips

Two engineers have taken the initiative to create Hindu Calendar 2022 (NoAds), an app that brings the Hindu calendar in a simple, pictorial, and informative form. The app is completely free of ads with easy navigation.

Hindu Calendar 2022 App

If you have been looking for an app that brings the Hindu panchang to your phones in a simple format, then look no further than the Hindu Calendar App developed by Bengaluru-based Prashanth V and Prashanth MN. The engineering duo has burnt the midnight oil to bring this ad-free app.

The best feature of this App is that it is totally offline and occupies very little space on your phone. The App is in Hindi and carries important details such as Rahu Kaal, Gulika Kaal, and Yamaghanta. It also features the Panchang of the Day along with the time of sunrise and sunset. The month and day view also carries information regarding holidays, festivals, and details of auspicious timings among other things.

The journey

“We have huge respect & love for our rich Hindu Culture and Heritage. But when we tried to look for a Simple Hindu Calendar app on Playstore, All the available apps were filled with ads and the Apps themselves aren’t well built. So we wanted to contribute to the Hindu community by building a calendar platform that is clean & Adfree”, Prashanth V informed HinduPost.

He further informed us that the lack of interactive Hindu panchang Apps that were devoid of ads led them to take the initiative to create this app. “When I tried to find Calendar apps on the market I had 2 options: 1. Stock Calendar apps like Google which is plain, boring, and isn’t exciting to look at, and 2. We have 100s of Hindu Calendar apps that are of low quality and filled with tons of Ads. I went through the reviews and understood how users are annoyed with the Ads and the app interface itself. So this was the problem statement I decided to work on. I imagined transforming that nostalgic wall Calendar into a beautiful clean App”, he added.

However, the journey to translate the vision into reality wasn’t an easy one. While Prashanth V designed the App UI and gathered the data and images, he faced hurdles in getting an App development company on board for execution. The companies he approached were charging exorbitant prices ranging from 80000 to 1.5 Lacs. That is when he decided to get help from his Engineering project mate Prashanth M N who is working in the IT sector.

“He helped me to transform my imagination into reality using his coding skills. We worked together on weekends, and holidays and finally, we have the NoAds Hindu Calendar app”, Prashanth said.

The efforts put in by these youngsters need to be appreciated by supporting their initiative.
