Free ‘Shaurya’ (Self-Defence) camp by HJS empowering young Hindu women: Bengaluru, KA

A special Shaurya (Self-Defence) Training Camp aimed at empowering young Hindu women with essential safety skills will be held on 23 November 2025 at Viveka Mandira, Vijayanagar, Bengaluru. Organized by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, the programme is designed for women aged 16 to 35, providing practical techniques to build confidence and preparedness in challenging situations.

The three-hour session (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM) will focus on basic self-defense, situational awareness, physical preparedness, and mental strength-building. Organizers say that the camp is not just about physical training but also about helping young women learn how to identify danger, respond wisely, and seek timely help. The initiative also encourages participants to bring their mothers, friends, and neighbors, allowing more women to learn crucial safety skills.

In recent years, self-defense education has gained importance as families and communities increasingly recognize the need for women’s safety, independence, and empowerment. Programmes like this, the Shaurya camp, play a valuable role in equipping women to protect themselves, especially in urban environments where incidents of harassment, stalking, and physical threats can occur.

The organizers have also arranged for easy registration options, including a QR code and an online form, to simplify the process for participants. The camp is being offered free of cost, making it accessible to women from all backgrounds. For further details, participants can contact the dedicated helpline at 7204082609.

Such grassroots initiatives serve as a reminder that community-driven empowerment programmes can make a meaningful difference. By teaching young women practical self-defense skills, the Shaurya camp helps create a more confident, aware, and secure society.

While concerns about the safety of young women are growing across Karnataka, organizations like the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti have become highly active in promoting self-defense training and awareness. Many families feel anxious due to increasing reports of Islamist-mediated online grooming, exploitation, and targeted crimes against women. In such a climate, practical self-defense skills are becoming essential.

By offering these training sessions at no cost, HJS has created an opportunity for Hindu women to learn how to protect themselves, stay alert, and respond confidently in potentially dangerous situations. This initiative empowers women, strengthens families, and builds a sense of security within the community.
