DaanaDharma conducts wedding of 18 orphaned janjati couples: Telangana

Hindu Dharmic organization DaanaDharma has conducted the samuhika vivaha (collective or mass wedding) of 18 orphaned janjati (‘tribal’) couples in Bhadrachalam, Telangana. Anna-daanam i.e. donating food/meals for 2500 people was also carried out on the auspicious occasion.

DaanaDharma will also assist the newly married couples in getting govt. marriage certificates and enroll in the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme.

Daana Dharma is an organization started by four friends based in USA with the aim to serve society in keeping with the Hindu philosophy of nishkaam seva. Venkat Vutukuri took the initiative and what started as a WhatsApp group has now grown into an organization that predominantly works for Dharma in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The organization works on the twin concepts of Daana and Dharma, and work on the principles enlisted in the Bhagavad Gita. The work is rooted in reviving Grama Devata temples as the focus of community life, and combining seva and Dharma. Most of their activities are undertaken among the underprivileged sections of society.
