Chilkur Balaji temple supports #FreeTNTemples initiative by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev

Chilkur Balaji temple has lent its support to the Free TN Temple initiative taken by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. The initiative calls for temples in Tamilnadu (TN) to be freed from government control and temple administration to be handed over to Hindu society so as to stop their loot.

Lending his voice to the initiative Shri CS Rangarajan, head priest of Chilkur Balaji temple, has put out a video message calling for ending government control over Hindu temples.

In his video message, Shri Rangarajan thanks Shri Jaggi Vasudev for raising the important issue of freeing Hindu temples and bringing Hindu devotees from all over the world on a single platform to save the temple system, particularly that of TN. He pointed out that although the demand for freeing temples in Tamilnadu has been a long-awaited one, it is for the first time that there is such a wide-spread discussion about the same.

He added that the Chilkur Balaji temple extends its wholehearted support to this initiative and pointed out that they have at the forefront of the movement for freeing Hindu temples. He also said that it was his father Shri Soundarrajan who began and ran the movement for 35 years.

Despite the movement being several decades old, it is for the first time that a common Hindu from different sections of the society has been making a united call for leaving Hindu temples alone. We are ready to manage our temples ourselves and the temples will be protected by our deities.

Chilkur Balaji temple head priest Rangarajan has been repeatedly speaking about how the government’s control over the temples shackles them and how it is against the rights guaranteed in the constitution.
