West Bengal: TMC-backed goons attacked the houses of BJP workers, pregnant wife tortured in Coochbehar

In a shocking incident, TMC-backed goons allegedly attacked the houses of BJP workers in Coochbehar district of West Bengal. Apart from vandalising the houses, a pregnant woman, wife of a BJP worker has been tortured.

On 7th of August, the incident occurred in Shalmara village under the jurisdiction of Najirhat Police Station of the Coochbehar district.

The family members took the pregnant woman to the Coochbehar district Hospital. Her condition is critical now.

According to her family members, TMC-backed goons beat her and kicked her on the womb. While she was crying in pain, the goons fled.

TMC-backed goons also vandalised four houses of the BJP workers.

Local BJP leadership informed that the family earlier approached the court for security. The court directed the local police to provide security to the family. But, the Police ignored the court’s order. To take revenge, those families, all BJP supporters and workers, were attacked by the TMC-backed goons.

Meanwhile, a team of police reached the village. The Police promised to identify and take actions against the goons. But, as of now, no one has been arrested.
