Police recovered 37 buffaloes from a Assam bound container and arrested driver Muhammad Alam, a resident of Moradabad of Uttar Pradesh. On Friday, police recovered the buffaloes during a naka checking in Kharibari-Ghoshpukur road.
As per sources, personnel of Kharibari Police station stopped a container at Kharibari-Ghoshpukur road. At first, driver Muhammad Alam said the container is of postal department and it is going to Assam. But on duty police personnel didn’t believe him.
Upon checking the container, total 37 buffaloes found inside. Muhammad Alam said that he took the buffaloes from Araria of Bihar and was taking them to Assam. He was produced before Siliguri Sub-divisional court and he was sent to judicial custody.
