West Bengal: Cow smuggler Lal Miyan fired at the police, one police personnel injured

One police personnel got injured as cow smugglers fired at the police in Shitalkuchi in Coochbehar district of West Bengal. 

As per information received, on Wednesday night a team of Shitalkuchi police station went to Nagarnepra village to arrest Lal Miyan, a cow smuggler. But he was on the run for many days. 

On the basis of tip, police raided his house. But when police gheraoed his house, Lal Miyan and his aide fired several rounds at the police. Police also fired in retaliation. But Lal Miyan managed to flee. Also, a police personnel injured in the firing. 

Later, huge police force reached the village and launched a search operation. But still no trace of Lal Miyan has been found so far. 

As Shitalkuchi block of Coochbehar district is adjacent to the India-Bangladesh border, cow smuggling happens. On many past occasions, cow smuggle died in BSF firing. But so far, cow smuggling is not under control.
