In news just in, Meerut police and UP STF (Special Task Force) has busted a ring supplying illegal weapons. 133 weapons, mostly handguns, have been confiscated and a total of 8 men have been arrested thus far.

The names of the 8 arrested are: Tabrez, Shafiq, Israr, Farooq, Ali Hasan, Aqeel, Anas and Bhavendra.
It is being reported that the weapons were intended to be supplied for the upcoming UP panchayat elections. The elections for gram panchayats, kshetra panchayats and zila panchayats across the state will be held in four phases on April 15, 19, 26 and 29, with counting of votes on May 2.
