Tripura: Sabbir Ahmed abducts a minor Hindu girl from Sepahijila, recovered from Bangladesh

Another case of abduction has been reported from the Sepahijila district of Tripura. Sabbir Ahmed and his father allegedly abducted a minor Hindu girl(15) and trafficked her to Bangladesh. However, the Police recovered the girl but couldn’t arrest any accused.

The minor Hindu girl is a resident of the Madhupur of Sepahijila district. On the 2nd of May, the girl went missing. Her father was initially clueless about the whereabouts of her daughter. From different sources, he came to know that her daughter had been abducted. Later, he filed a complaint against a Muslim youth named Sabbir Ahmed and his father in Madhupur Police Station.

Initially, the Police didn’t take any action. But, after the agitation by Bajrang Dal on the 7th of May, the Police filed a case against the accused persons and launched a probe.

The Police immediately identified Sabbir Ahmed and raided his house. But, they were not found. The Police also alerted BSF as the area is not far away from the Bharat-Bangladesh International border.

Today, on the 15th of May, the Police got information about the girl. The girl was staying in a home in Bangladesh near the Bharat-Bangladesh International border. Soon, with the help of the BSF, the Police managed to recover the girl; but couldn’t arrest the accused persons.
