Shivling uprooted and temple desecrated in UP village

A temple in Uttar Pradesh has been attacked and the Shivling broken by Muslims. Hindus who are a minority in the village are said to be in fear of more such attacks following the incident. The incident happened in Alampur village in Saharanpur, UP, where Muslims are said to be in majority.

On the evening of June 5 the Shiva temple located in the village was attacked by Muslims and later when Hindus went to the temple they found that the Shivling was uprooted and thrown outside the temple. Opindia reported that as per locals the 40 – 50 year old temple’s locks were broken and the temple was desecrated. Following this, a tense atmosphere prevailed in the village but with the arrival of police the situation was brought under control.

Police also have confirmed that there was an attack on the temple and put out a statement saying efforts to restore the Shivling is underway.

Such attacks on temples are becoming frequent in Bharat. Earlier the Devi Mandir in Dasna was in news for attacking a Muslim boy who supposedly went inside the temple to collect water. The incident was reported by the liberal media as persecution of minorities and human rights violation. However the other side of the incident brought out Hindu Human rights violation, as the truth of Muslims desecrating the temple, bothering the Hindu women, etc came to light.

Women who came to the temple to pray were sexually harassed and there have been several robberies in the temple. There have also been cases of people urinating or desecrating the Shivling in the temple. Muslims constitute nearly 90% of the total population of Dasna. History has continued with the attack on the Shiva temple in Alampur.
